With the eyes of an avatar It doesn’t happen every day to be rewarded for a “literary debut” in Second Life: it happened to me thanks to Edizioni Volando which published my short story, “Con gli occhi di un avatar” (“With the eyes of an avatar”). The evening, like others I attended recently, it was enjoyable and interesting and confirms SL is anything but dead. |
Free avatars and outfits in SL I must admit, I’m not a fashion victim in Secondlife. But when I read the article by Luciana Pinazzo dedicated to Bouquet Babii’s brand Vero Modero, I was curious because even I have heard “in world” of it, so at the earliest opportunity I went to visit her mainstore. |

Avatars are within us There were some who called it an example of geek advertising, I like to think that advertising designed by Empreinte, French manufacturer of lingerie that has a virtual model in the windows of its new shop in Paris, is an example of what could be the use of avatars in the future. |

Volando Edizioni story We left Volando Amat with the promise to end our chat and find out how she created Volando Edizioni, which targets she had achieved and what still she aims. Here is the final part of our pleasant, and hopefully for you interesting, conversation. |

Avatars' thought Among the many activities in which residents of Second Life are involved, there are some editorial productions. We asked Volando Amat to tell us what has pushed her to create the Edizioni Volando, what target she has and what kind of business model she follow. Here’s what she said. |

Nunzia Mayo disappeared Summer does not bring luck to Mondivirtuali.it: in July of 2010 a lamer canceled SLnn.it, this year in mid-August a scammer has seized and then deleted the account of Nunzia Mayo. Be careful not to fall into the deception you too: no-reply@secondlife.com is not a mail address of Linden Lab. |

Venk's characters Venk, aka Stephen Venkman, is a "historical" resident of the Second Life that this week we decided to select as our graphic dreamer. On SL he has been present since 2006 and has had the opportunity to shine as a photographer, shape maker, artist, and events coordinator. |
The Interpreter The ruins of a Roman amphitheater reconstructed 6,000 meters above one of the most famous (and lasting) Italian land of Second Life, Itland, were meeting last week of dozens of avatars for the latest initiative of Rho Cassiopeiae Production, "The Interpreter", which will have a reply July 8, at Mithology land. |

Ford new avatars Say "avatar" and you think of the James Cameron's movie or your virtual alter ego in Second Life or in your favorite virtual worlds. But Ford's avatars are more than fun. |
Virtual diversity Exciting new contest graphic on Koinup.com: virtual worlds ecosystems are based on the diversity of each avatar, created by the imagination of the real person that moves it. So let's see your best portraits of avatars sending your works from March 28 to April 19. |

Where were we? Where were we? From July 2010, for various problems, we were officialy away from Second Life: now get back in touch with a reality that for many represents entirely virtual worlds, yet it is not. Even for this reason we mean more room for other platforms and channels of information, communication and dissemination of culture (as well as entertainment and gaming, of course). |
Final Fantasy In Rai someone likes it manga: after Ghost in the Shield, broadcast last December by Rai4, at this end of June on Rai Movie Movie another manga that is linked to the avatar is on air, Final Fantasy. The movie, dated 2001 and directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi and Moto Sakakibara, was named like the famous saga of video games but does not relate to any specific episode of the 13 chapters so far produced by Square. |
Online identities With Web 2.0 the concept of communication and information is changing, from a model of broadcasting from one point to many points, organized hierarchically from top to bottom, it becomes information sharing, the same movement in both directions as well as horizontally, loosening hierarchical links and with a multiplication of channels and sources. |
Who will like Blue Mars? The "residents" of Second Life are often so annoyed by the limits and flaws of the virtual world of Linden Lab that can not resist the idea of trying alternative more efficient. And of course the space to offer new services wxists, since Second Life has, like many of the other virtual worlds, retention rates around 9%-10%. |
Conformism in SL - 2 Second and final part of the reasoning of Lookatmy Back, which builds on our article on compliance in virtual fashion emphasized that many other things in SL and other worlds virtual weight seem taken from real life, thus undermining the possibility for these platforms to create original content. |

Avatar for China is not a game Ok, it's useless to hope to get by with “only” three articles: the world press, not only the Italian one, is hot in these days about Avatar. If in Italy the movie of James Cameron devoted to “blue native” of Pandora has already grossed, according to latest estimates, 11 million euros, in China box offices exceeded yet 80 million dollars, though the authorities have decided to limit distribution to only the 2D version, reserving rooms equipped for 3D for the local “cinepanettone” Confucius, as Reuters reported. |
Let's talk about Avatar I swear: I did not want to do (an article dedicated solely to Avatar the movie of James Cameron), but all resistance is useless. After the deluge of words spent in the United States and around the world the mighty war machine of the press is put in motion in Italy too, with the predictable and widely expected results of these cases. |
New year, same old stories New year, same old stories: even in 2010 Italy remains a country where the digital divide exist since the infrastructure more than on a cultural level, plus the attitude of those who should konwn new technologies and forms of cultural and artistic expressions remains predictably archaic. |

Mr G, I suppose This time I want to speak of an artist whose work many of you have got to see in Second Life, if only because some of his advertising images of greatest impact among those used in the vendor of famous fashion brands in the virtual fashion industry. He is Cicciuzzo Gausmann. |
Divine Tokyoska enhanced avatars This time I will tell you about an artist who uses SL as a medium to create spectacular images: Divine Tokyoska. She tends to not take themselves too seriously and simply say: "I picture nice ladies of SL, there is nothing profound in my work, everything is sexy, cheeky fun". |
