Master or slave?
The fans know this for a long time, thanks to a discreet word of mouth: if you like the play of domination and submission (D/s), if you feel Master (or Mistress) or slave, now you can play your role online. Where? But in one of the "mature" (ie for users age) island of Second Life, the virtual world that has now exceeded 5 million registered users and where 24/7 between 30 and 50 thousand players constantly connected simultaneously from every corner of the globe. If "SL" (the acronym that identifies this new "second life" as distinct from "RL" or the real life) is for many a new and more attractive way to chat with people around the world, even while you are "dancing" in a disco or wind surfing on the waves of ocean, there are indeed areas dedicated to the virtual bondage, sadomasochism, or to the games of domination.

Not necessarily for sexual purposes, is clear: the millions of fans of the Chronacles of Gor saga (a series of fantasy "ultra macho" novels written by the American writer John Norman) have so far reproduced dozens of cities described in the novels and their plots regularly. Playing (but if you come across a "Gorean" never use this term, they are very touchy about this) to be a "FM" (free man, a free man) or "FW" (free woman, free woman) a "panther" (a woman warrior) or a slave (a girl, much more rarely a boy).
A world of swords, duels, but also Master-slave links and, optionally, moments of Zen meditation: just enough to relax after a hard or worse, boring day of our daily "RL" and recharge our batteries. Also because in Second Life, and in that part where it has been recreated Gor, no one seems to bring the anxieties and tensions of everyday life. A novel Utopia online, where your avatar, chosen by you, shaped and dressed from time to time may be served tea with pastries from his slave, happy to help you relax or even succumb to your taste (be careful of "silk" namely that it wears the silks: If you are white does not grant to you sexually, but if red is ready and happy to do so). Or talk to following a label that resembles a little that the era of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, or rather what we all like to think it was.
Do not be surprised: who would not want, just for once, be treated as a noble warrior, or otherwise abandon any concern other than to follow strict orders, and inflexible rules? The patterns of domination-submission contains sexual imagery (and more) of the human race for centuries and have developed three basic concepts in Second Life (Gor species) are even more easily observed: SSC, ie healthy, safe, consensual. Limits that define a world, the BDSM (bondage, domination, sado-masochism), where the risk of falling into forms of violence, injustice or genuine mental illness would otherwise be very high. Between master and slave of Gor in Second Life, D/s submission of the slave (ie the domination of the Master/Mistress) can be expressed either through humiliation (verbal only, however) and without them. These are games very "cerebral" in which two players must be equipped with deep sensitivity and confidence needed to live the game with confidence.
In the circle of Gorean Second Life in recent months is an ongoing debate: Gor must evolve, as it seems, in the sense of a mere fulfillment of sexual fantasies or must remain faithful to the novels of John Norman, thus maintaining a kind of role playing (RPG) more complex, but also gives room for many more forms of activity (including commercial: to buy luxurious clothes for your avatar, or swords for warriors, but also virtual houses and furniture spend the Gorean comparatively high figures in Linden dollars "virtual" Second Life) and relationships between participants? The debate is open, new cities are springing up to return to the "purity" of the origins, while others adopt codes of conduct to encourage more and more bland freaks sex online. You, for example, which way you herd?
