DixMix research
Welcome back! After summer holidays on the Graphic Dreams group on Koinup.com there were 5,300 images, a remarkable achievement of audience but also a wealth of themes and graphic ideas. Images often excellent proposals from new and "old" graphic dreamers as Crystalship Rehula (see ther), Connie Sec (what do you think about this image?), Lithea (an exemple), Ruriko Braken (wonderful this Chinese girl), RocapC (always travelling), Lookatmy Back (another world traveler), Marlia Looming (who mix SL and RL) and tens of others.
But do not waste any more time: This week's graphic dreamer is DixMix, whom strikes me with the ability to create portraits so beautiful and colorful, almost baroque, as Buffy Headshot, as images of avatars but always very linear and almost "thin", as yet very elegant as Buffy in a Vita Outfit.
Sometimes DixMix reminds me of a painter as whimsical as the Arcimboldo, not because DixMix create faces starting from vegetables such as the famous sixteenth-century Milanese painter, but because I think I see a hint of mannerism even in DixMix works like the portrait of Claudia22 Jewell at Lea Art Box or those of the same DixMix at Jordan.
While many artists on virtual worlds alternate the exploration of the most interesting location present on the grid with the representation of the various means through which it manifests our digital identity, the avatar, DixMix seems to combine both elements in a single search, a journey that is both through places, faces and moods.
The result, as in XIV on y Revient is sometimes dark, sometimes very bright as in Some skyes I’ve fly (that almost seems to me a summons to Chagal). In DixMix gallery there are even glamorous, sensual, impressionistic images… as if the artist wanted first to experiment, play with tools and ideas, looking for his size, his dream of a perfect graph. Which is basically what drives each of us to become a graphic dreamer, at the end.
