After repeated rumors, of which Mondivirtuali.it already talked, it is now official: a press release from Sony indicated the Christmas holidays 2020 as a period of launch of the expected new console Playstation 5 (PS5), of which, however, it is not the selling price was indicated. An announcement that does not mean the death of the PS4 which will continue to be supported and will see new titles ad Death Stranding, The Last Of Us – 2 and Ghost of Tsushima.
The PS5 will have new controllers
Along with the release date, Sony has also provided some details on the new controllers: first of all they (should be called DualShock 5 but the name is not yet official) will have adaptive triggers, ie the buttons L2 and R2 will offer varying degrees of resistance based on the context of the game. In addition, a haptic feedback will replace the vibration that for years characterize the Playstation gamepads. Even the speaker (but this still has to be confirmed) should then be improved, all to get to offer a gaming experience that best simulates the various actions.
GameStop did not react well to the announcement
The announcement of the arrival of the PS5 has certainly pleased many players, but has not helped GameStop title which ended the day on Wall Street down4,74% at 5.23 dollar per share. The distribution chain is going through a restructuring period and the launch of the PS5 should have helped to make ends meet, but the debut only at Christmas risks postponing any possible positive effect by one year.
