There are some natural locations in the world with incredible features that are used as a set from your marriage photos to science fiction movies. If recently it has talked about the risk posed by Isis, that between Tunisia and Libya have signed the fighting near the town of Tataouine, where in 1976 were filmed the first shootings of Star Wars (particularly of Tatooine, home planet of Luke Skywalker whose fonia happens to remember that of the town where it was set up, and never dismantled, the set of George Lucas) in the Nevata desert, near Las Vegas, there is a location where are made from music videos (as “Stupid Little Thing” of Anastacia) to marriage photos. This location is th Eldorado Valley Dry Lake Bed, which as the name suggests is the bottom, now dry, a lake that once existed near what is today the town of Boulder, a few tens of kilometers from Las Vegas, in Nevada. A location much loved by the young American couples who are getting married in Las Vegas and here set their wedding photo albums, or in neighboring Nelson Ghost Town (which is southeast of the Eldorado Valley, in the neighboring Clark County), former mining town now inhabited by only 35 residents with saloon, gas pumps, old cars and vans that are rust and even the (fake) remains of a plane crashing to the ground. Both locations can be reached through Us Route 95 and how you can easily find yourself on the web or on Flickr we have been used as locations of photos and video of any kind. If you find yourself in the area you could make pictures in this picturesque town, otherwise you could try some of the virtual world as Second Life if the Dry Lake Bed or Nelson Ghost Town were rebuilt. Since these locations are similar now entered the collective imagination should not be difficult. Some years ago Anita Witt, for examples, had created and kept open for some time (the sim were closed in February 2014 for economic reasons as remembered by the same Anita) Dryland, a sort of outdoor art gallery set in the scenario of a bottom of a dried up lake that could be the Aral Sea or the Eldorado Valley Dry Lake, while an El Dorado Dry Lake is available in the locations where is set the action in the videogames of the franchisee Fallout, set in a post-atomic 2161. Who knows in the future are not set up new scenarios or sim game that recreates the magic of these fantastic locations.
