And so it was successful: Birdman, the Alejandro Gonzales Innaritu movie speaking of the path of an actor, Riggan Thompson (starring Michael Keaton), now into the sunset and trying to get away from the character who made him famous, i.e. Birdman himself, after winning the Producers Guild Awards also won the Oscar for best film of 2015, as well as for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Cinematography. Birdman had already opened the Venice Film Festival, in Italy but for now it is not a success at the box office, much that has collected just about 2.5 million by taking advantage of the revival linked to the Oscars night, of a total of forty million collected from the film abroad (moreover figure similar to that collected in October in Us theaters).
Surely it is strange that Hollywood, that thanks to superheroes movies in recent years has grossed billion of dollars (worlwide The Avengers with about 1.52 billions grosses is in third place overall behind Avatar and Titanic but over a billion grosses thare are even Iron Man 3, in sixth place with 1.21 billion, The Dark Knight Rises, eleventh place with 1.08 billion and The Dark Knight, in nineteenth place with just over 1 billion round), has ended up with the Oscar award just one of the less successful films of the genre and, moreover, really “hidden” within a theatrical plot, more than superhero.
We at Mondivirtuali.it like to think however that it is a small and partial “amends” made by American film industry in respecto of a kind, that of fantastic films, which has approached million viewers in the cinema and on television is always able to collect a good success.
